Everything you need to know

and more!

Turning your mundane into memories.
Because you don’t want your story to go untold.

What does a day in your life look like? Do you cherish the cup of coffee that you and your partner have before the little ones wake up? Maybe you have movie night each week, and everyone snuggles on the couch in pj’s. Perhaps Saturday morning is the day that you all make breakfast together. You see where I’m going with this? I know from experience that these are the moments that you are going to want to remember when the little ones are grown.

Yep, even the sleepless nights. The diaper blowouts. The excruciatingly long minutes of tummy time. Playing legos on the floor or teaching your little one to play an instrument. It might feel unglamorous or mundane, but from my view? It’s pure magic. These photos will be proof of how much you loved this phase of your life.

My style of photography is lifestyle, with a little documentary thrown in. My goal is to capture this phase of your family’s life, and offer a session that is as unique as your family. These won’t be everyone smile and look at the camera photos.

How it works to get these real-life moments into your hands (Hint: I make this SUPER easy for you):

Before your session

Reach out to me, and we’ll chat about what kind of session you’re looking for, the timing, and the location to get images that are the most “you.” We’ll sign a contract, pay your deposit, and get to planning. After you’re booked, I will send you a questionnaire to get to know you and your family better.

I’ll run point on the planning part, so you don’t have to. You just tell me what you love to do as a family, and I can send you ideas for what we can do during the session and where we can go. That’s the beauty of a storytelling session. We just do what you’re already doing!

The big day has arrived!

Kick your shoes off (I might, too); it’s session time. Think of this session as “A day in your life.” As a mom with grown kids, I can tell you that it’s the little moments that are going to mean the most when you look back.

So, there’s no need to worry about what you’re wearing, if the kids have a dirty face, or if your house is clean. I want to photograph your real life at this stage.  That’s why you hired me!

After your session

It’s time to see your photos! Within two weeks of your session, you will receive an email letting you know that I have chosen the very best images from your session and artistically edited them. You will get a link to your slideshow gallery, which you’ll have access to for 48 hours. You can watch it over and over and choose your favorite images. Then, it’s just a matter of choosing your Collection.

Once you’ve chosen your Collection, you can download the included digital images and use your complimentary print credit on items in your store. As I photograph your family, I think about which photos you’re going to frame. Which wall they might hang on. Most importantly, I think about how it will make you feel to see them every day. To be reminded of all the love in your life. This step is the most important, and I’ll help you choose the best ones to print!

Your Questions about your Bay Area Lifestyle Session

answered

Are you vaccinated for Covid?

You bet! I’m also up-to-date with pertussis and whooping cough vaccines, so you can rest easy when I’m with your family.

What is Day in the Life Photography?

For me, Day in the Life photography is about capturing real people, real relationships, real personalities, real emotions, and real moments. It’s about capturing your life, just as it is now.

It’s about capturing moments that happen in your everyday life: laughter, cuddles, kisses, etc.

What is your turnaround time?

When I take photographs of my children and family, I know how excited I am to see the images. I want you to see your images as soon as possible and will usually have your gallery ready in less than 2 weeks.

How many images are in a typical gallery, and can I select which images I want to download?

I capture many images during your session. Each image is carefully reviewed to ensure that you receive the very best images that tell your story. Once I have selected the images that represent my work and your story, the edited images will be uploaded to your gallery. RAW and unedited images will not be delivered as they are not representative of my work.

You are able to choose the images from your gallery that you wish to download as part of your collections.

There are usually 50-100 edited images in every gallery.

When should I book?

My schedule fills up quickly as I only accept 8-10 clients per month. I recommend maternity sessions between 32-36 weeks and newborn sessions between birth and 8 weeks.

Do you have suggestions about what to wear for our session?

Absolutely. It’s very simple. Wear what makes you, you! There’s no need to go out and buy a fancy outfit. If you’re a jeans and t-shirt kind of person, come as you are! If your little one won’t wear anything except a brightly colored tutu right now, great! I’m capturing the authentic you, so just show up as yourself.

Do you charge a travel fee:

My sessions take me to the East Bay, South Bay, North Bay, and Peninsula. There is no travel fee for clients that live within 50 miles of Oakland. There is a $100 fee for locations more than 50 miles away.

Do you offer prints or albums?

Yes! I have always loved to look at photo albums and my home is filled with images of my family. My hope is that every client will turn their images into works of art that will be treasured for years to come. You will have the option to purchase prints, wall art, and albums through your gallery. All products are processed through a professional lab only available to professional photographers to ensure the best quality. I only guarantee quality on products ordered through your gallery.

Do you offer gift certificates?

I sure do. You can choose which collection you would like to gift. The recipient can also choose to upgrade their collection after the session. You can purchase gift certificates, HERE.

What rights do I have to my images?

As a part of your package, you receive all printing rights to your images to make prints, albums, wall art, etc. Commercial use of your images is not allowed unless previously agreed upon. You will receive high-resolution versions of your images for download. As a photographer, I hold all copyrights to all of my images.m.

Do you charge a session fee?

I don’t charge a session fee, but I do charge a $250 retainer to hold your date. The retainer is applied to the collection you choose. The retainer is non-refundable.
