In case you haven’t heard me say it before, I’ll say it again. I love in-home sessions. As my kids have gotten older, one thing that I have realized when I look back at family photographs is that the ones that really give me the feels are the ones that really captured their personalities. Sure the posed photos, where everyone was looking and smiling are nice, but they don’t evoke a feeling.
So I was thrilled when Penny and Pete reach out and wanted to do an in-home family session. We had a blast as they baked scones, built lego castles, snuggled in the hammock, built swords for a sword fight, and ended with a water fight. I really got a sense of who they were as a family and what was important to them, (each other!). I really hope that it shines through in their images.
And my heart was happy when Penny said this after the session, “Wow!!! These are amazing and really captured who we are. We are speechless with your talent and your eye.”
