Day in the Life Sessions
Lifestyle/Documentary photography in the Bay Area
What if I told you that the things you’re going to miss most when your little ones are all grown up are the things that you might not even notice?
The little moments that happen every day. The morning snuggles, brushing their first tooth, the bedtime stories, bath time, even your teen, always on their phone.

What to Expect
What does a day in your life look like?
Our everyday lives are imperfect, and that’s what makes them perfect! I recently heard someone say that perfection doesn’t exist without imperfection.
Our homes are sometimes messy, our beds unmade, and dishes undone. Our hair isn’t perfect; some days, it’s not even brushed. Our children aren’t perfectly behaved; sometimes, they cry and throw tantrums.
But when we look back in 20 or 30 years, those aren’t the things we will remember. We will remember those little arms reaching up to us to be held. That sticky hand that grabs ours as we are walking. The morning snuggles before the day gets started.
We often take those little moments for granted and don’t even really recognize at the time how precious they are. Because as our kids grow, those arms won’t reach up anymore, they won’t reach for our hand to cross the street, and those morning snuggles will end.

All your Day in the Life session questions answered
When should I book my Day in the Life session?
My calendar fills up quickly, especially during the fall, so I encourage you to book early. I open my calendar 3 months in advance, but I’m happy to book further out if you have a date in mind.
When should I schedule my Day in the Life session?
Session times will depend on what part of your day we are capturing and how long we will spend together.
What is A Day in Life Photography?
For me, A Day in Life photography is about capturing real people, real relationships, real personalities, real emotions, and real moments. It’s about capturing your life, just as it is now.
It’s about capturing moments that happen in your everyday life: the laughter, the cuddles, and all of the love.
Do you have suggestions about what to wear for our session?
Absolutely. It’s very simple. Wear what you normally wear during a day at home with your family. These sessions are about capturing your family as authentically as possible.
What is the benefit of a Day in the Life Session over a typical session?
Being together for several hours, or all day, provides more opportunities to capture authentic, natural moments. I’m not just aiming to capture everyone laughing and smiling, I’ll also capture the whining and tears that inevitably happens! In other words, I’ll capture it all. Having more time allows me to fully tell your family’s story.
Won't it be tiring to have you in our space all day?
Not at all! I won’t be directing you or asking everyone to smile and perform. I may make suggestions, but for the most part, I’ll just be there, in the background, capturing your typical day. I won’t be with everyone at all times, so there will be plenty of breaks.

“Perfection doesn’t exist without imperfection.”

What do we do for 3, 5, or 8 hours?
My pre-session questionnaire is designed so that I can learn what a typical day looks like for you, and the moments that are most important to your family. I’ll learn about the traditions and routines that your family has.
The timing of the session will depend on what part of your day we are trying to capture. If bathtime and bedtime are special moments right now, that’s what we will focus on.
It does help to plan a few activities that your family normally does together. These don’t have to be in your home. If singing together in the car while making a Target run is what you want to remember, I’m in!
Do you offer prints or albums?
Yes! I have always loved to look at photo albums and my home is filled with images of my family. My hope is that every client will turn their images into works of art that will be treasured for years to come. You will have the option to purchase prints, wall art, and albums through your gallery. All products are processed through a professional lab only available to professional photographers to ensure the best quality. I only guarantee quality on products ordered through your gallery.
Do you offer gift certificates?
I sure do. You can choose which collection you would like to gift. The recipient can also choose to upgrade their collection after the session. You can purchase gift certificates, HERE.
What can I expect during and after the session?
You can expect a relaxed experience both during and after your session. Once you’re booked I will send you a link with all the details.

Do you charge a session fee?
I don’t charge a session fee, but I do charge a $250 retainer to hold your date. The retainer is applied to the collection you choose. The retainer is non-refundable.
